About this work

STS006-44-532 (4-9 April 1983) --- This is one of a series of photographs taken through the “ceiling” windows of the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Challenger by members of the STS-6 crew on its five-day mission in space. Many unused oil tankers lie in the roadstead along the coast of U.A.E. between the ports of Khawn Fakkan and Fujayrah. The sunglint on the Gulf of Oman permits the viewer to see the surface features much clearer.
