About this work

STS066-208-025 (3-14 Nov. 1994) --- Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 8,848 meters, was photographed by the crew members aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis from 165 nautical miles above Earth. Also seen are Cho Oyu (8,153 meters) northwest of Everest, and other peaks in what has been called the "Roof of the World".
