About this work

STS090-755-062 (17 April - 3 May 1998) --- The Mississippi River stands out among the geographic features in this view of the St. Louis, Missouri and East St. Louis, Illinois area as photographed with a 70mm handheld camera from the Space Shuttle Columbia. The Shuttle was flying at almost a nadir position to the area when the photo was taken. The picture should be held with the two major rivers at the top of the frame in order for north to be toward the top.
