About this work
STS099-703-007 (11-22 February 2000) ---A distinct cumulus cloud pattern marks the island wake within a weak northerly wind field in the vicinity of Isla Socorro, south of the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. The photo was taken by one of the astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour as it orbited Earth in February 2000. A smaller companion island, San Benedicto, is visible to the north-northeast.
