About this work

Bail-handled, twelve-lobed, circular dish on a molded circular pedestal base with applied cast decoration of pendant grape clusters alternating with other fruits at the wavy rim and a continuous grapevine covering base; two intertwined grapevines form the crescent-shaped handle. Circular tag affixed to underside of well at one end is embossed "* ROGERS BROS. MFG CO. * / HARTFORD CONN. (in outer circle)" and "****** / EXTRA / HEAVY / PLATE. / ******* (in inner circle)". Underside of bowl struck incuse "1873."
