About this work
Rectangular wool bunting flag. Red and white stripes (7 red and 6 white) with a blue union in the upper hoist corner. In the union are 36 white stars arranged in 5 arcs (8 stars in top arc, then 7 stars, then 8, then 7, then the bottom row has 6 stars). Below the stars, but still on the union, is a gold/brown spread eagle with three arrows and an olive branch in its talons. White hoist with no grommets. Inscription on hoist reads "Head Quarters Dept of Cumberland".
