About this work

Charcoal sketch on paper of a soldier advancing through the Argonne Forest. The soldier has his rifle drawn and is moving through dense trees. There are other soldiers behind him in the distance, all surrounded by trees. On the reverse of the drawing is a rough sketch of a similar scene.
