About this work
Charcoal sketch on paper of soldiers looking up at the sky as a cluster of "archies" (anti-aircraft artillery) explode in the distance. Three soldiers are on a camp wagon at right which is led by a team of horses. Another soldier at left is on horseback in front of the wagon. The soldiers all have their faces turned away from the viewer as they look to the background left of the sketch, where the artillary are exploding in the sky.
