About this work

This wide mouth drug jar has a waisted body with rounded shoulders. The yellow-gold cartouche frames the portrait of a woman in profile, her hand reaching up and holding onto a C-scroll. The cartouche and flanking C-scrolls are surrounded by realistically painted blue and yellow flowers on thin green stems and elongated leaves.
