The <i>Squibb Ancient Pharmacy Catalogue</i> lists this box as a contained for “Richter’s pills.” Richter’s pills were nostrums, or pills that had no discernible physiological effect. An inscription around the coat of arms reads: Christian Sigm. Christoph Fridrich Richter.
