About this work

On lotus slippers, the Buddhist goddess Kannon descends from the clouds onto Lotus Paradise Island. This lotus paradise is depicted on the inside of the box. Kannon is welcomed by the music of flute and drum, as can be seen on the silver water-dropper. Writing paper can be kept under the tray containing the inkstone and the waterdropper.
