About this work
Round box of stoneware on three short feet, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, purple, brown, black and gold. On the wall three compartments containing: a group of seated women on a terrace in front of a pavilion, a group of seated men on a terrace in front of a pavilion, four men and a woman seated in a landscape. The feet are gilded and modeled from the wall; around the feet a compartment with lacework. Satsuma.
