About this work
Minamoto no Yorimasa was a 12th-century samurai who lost his life in the power struggle then raging. In the No play Yorimasa presents himself as a spirit to a priest. The warrior recounts his tragic end on a battlefield, when he and a few men vainly faced heavy odds to win time for a prince to escape.
