About this work
Court lady with a fan in her left hand, standing on a platform. The eyebrows painted high on the forehead indicate that a court lady from the Heian period (794-1185) is depicted. Behind her hangs a clock. This print is a calendar sheet (egoyomi) for the year 1799. The long months for that year are indicated on the clock. With one poem.
