About this work
The Buddha stands upright on a low, round and tapering base. His right arm with abhayamudrā (gesture soothing fear), the other extended arm varamudrā (giving blessing). He wears an undergarment, of which only the chest part is visible and a long pleated robe that falls to his bare feet. His head shows the characteristic features: the contemplative facial expression, the ushnisha and the large ears.
