About this work
Unlike porcelain, stoneware (buncheong) did not develop under the influence of foreign fashion and sources of inspiration. The glaze used for this type of stoneware contains a small amount of iron, so that the colour remains bright and does not turn green – as in celadon. The bowl’s slightly misshapen form heightens its natural appearance.
