About this work

Wine vessel with cover and swing handle (you). Three-legged wine heater (jia). China. Early Western Zhou period (1050 - 975 BC). Lead. Found in a single grave, these lead vessels were made exclusively as mortuary gifts. It was less expensive to give objects made of lead than of bronze. Given by Dr A.F. Philips and Mrs A.H.E.M. Philips-de Jongh.
