About this work

Cylindrical tea caddy or chaire of stoneware with an ivory lid, painted in red, green and gold. On the wall loose cherry blossoms; on the shoulder a band with a stylized flower pattern in diamonds. The underside is unglazed. Awata (Satsuma?).
