About this work

Square pot of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue. On each side a slightly sunken cartouche with indented corners containing a woman (long robe): a woman with a fan in her hand sitting by a rock in front of a pavilion in an open garden with a weeping willow; a standing woman by a rock with a fan in her hand next to a pine tree; a woman sitting at a table next to a banana plant; a woman with a twig in her hand next to a tree in an enclosed garden. On the shoulder lotus scrolls. The lid with treasures (ruby, horn, music stone) and luck symbols (shell, coral). Some chips in the lid. Blue and white.
