About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in overglaze blue and on the glaze in blue, red, green, black and gold. On the field the coat of arms of the De Jonge family divided into four quarters. The coat of arms is supported by a lion and a griffin on a green background. The crest is a black swan and a mantling of leafy vines. On the wall a band with floral scrolls and an early spearhead border; the rim with four flower groups containing symbols of good fortune (vase, music stone, books); on the reverse side of the plate three butterflies and three peony branches. Armorial porcelain in blue-and-white and enamel colors.
