About this work
Porcelain plate, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, black and gold. On the flat of the plate a scene of a Dutch VOC ship, Vrijburg, on the waves; on the rim a crowned cartouche with the inscription 'T:SCHIP VRYBURG:GEVOERT:DOOR CAPITEYN JACOB.RYZIK.IN:CHINA.INT IAAR 1756'; the wall with a 'spearhead-border'; the rim with a narrow band with floral scrolls. European scene in enamel colors.
