About this work
Porcelain tea caddy with an egg-shaped body, on a foot with openwork scrollwork, painted on the glaze in black and gold. On the wall two oval cartouches containing a European peasant landscape with working people, cattle, a farm and a village in the background; between the cartouches a flower spray; on the shoulder a band with scrolls in Meissen style. The lid with two flower sprays and a band with scrolls. European subject in encre de Chine.
