About this work

Porcelain dish painted in underglaze blue. On the flat of the dish a sculpted medallion with a peony branch and a bird; around the medallion eight petal-shaped cartouches filled with various flower branches (lotus, peony, prunus, chrysanthemum) cut out in a ground of lacework, between the compartments a ruyi motif on the rim; the reverse with three flower branches. Marked on the underside with a shell in a double circle. Wall of the dish is restored. Blue and white.
