About this work
Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat surface, two women and five playing children on an enclosed terrace before a pavilion, one of the children playing with a crab and lotus on a stick; the rim with lacework alternating with a plum branch in a lobed cartouche; on the reverse, two river landscapes with two boats. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Kangxi in a double circle. A crack in the wall. Blue and white.
