About this work

Ton-shaped beer mug of porcelain with C-shaped handle and tin lid with thumb rest, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. On the body four long lotus leaf-shaped compartments filled with flower branches, rocks and birds; between the compartments loose flowers on a black-speckled green ground; above this hanging compartments with lotus scrolls surrounded by frog spawn, above that a band with ruyi motif; around the rim and the foot a band with geometric pattern. The tin lid with flower branches and bird in gold. Famille verte.
