About this work
Hexagonal teapot of red stoneware with a curved spout and upright handle. On the wall six compartments with therein a representation in relief of Kuixing, the god of literature, standing on a dragon head between waves. On the shoulder a band with stylised leaf motifs. The base of the spout is formed by a dragon head in relief. The supports of the handle are in the form of cloud motifs; the crossbar is formed by two dragons. The lid knob is in the form of a shishi (lion-dog). Yixing.
