About this work

Large, baluster-shaped porcelain vase, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze gold. On the body a hunting scene with hunters on horseback and on foot with weapons and dogs in a landscape with trees, mountains and rocks. Below a band with lotus scrolls. Above the foot a band with standing leaf motifs. On the shoulder a band with lambrequins containing alternating lotus and flower scrolls. Above that a band with swags and a flower rosette interrupted by cartouches with flowering plants (lotus, peony, bamboo, chrysanthemum, prunus). The neck with a band of lotus scrolls. On the rim a band with ruyi motifs. The rim of the lid is restored. Blue and white.
