Tea chest

Rectangular tea caddy with three inner boxes; brass ears on the short sides; brass reinforcing corners on the top edge of the box and the bottom edge of the lid. The four sides and the lid of the caddy are decorated with high-relief carved floral scrolls. Always a central field surrounded by a wide ornamental band filled with guilloche work. On the lid, a river landscape with pavilions, a boat, and figures is carved in the central field; on the sides, the field is filled with the same floral scrolls as outside. The decoration of the lid is enclosed by a narrow meander band. The rectangular (tin?) inner boxes are lined with ivory. They have a round, flat lid. The tops of the boxes are decorated with guilloche work in which cartouches with floral scrolls are cut out. On the sides, a central rectangular field with floral scrolls, surrounded by a wide band with guilloche work.
