About this work
A group of pilgrims walk in a row above the cloud line, amid the huge boulders of Mount Fuji. This mountain is rendered in its entirety in powerful calligraphic lines on the other screen. The printmaker and painter Yoshida is known for his mountain landscapes. He was a fervent mountain climber and made designs for his works of art while travelling throughout the world.
