About this work

The amphora’s round body and elongated neck share similarities with objects discovered in the Mediterranean and western Asia, only often made of glass and metal instead. Distinctly Chinese touches have been introduced through the lively dragon handles. The amphora is adorned with what is known as a sancai glaze, which translates to ‘three colours,’ predominantly yellow, green, and brown shades.
