About this work

A shaped plate with light relief, decorated over the entire surface in underglaze blue and overglaze green, yellow, brown, and black with a bird on a bamboo branch with flowering prunus and rocks, and on the reverse side floral scrolls along the rim, three lines around and in the foot ring, and a cursive character 福 (fuku, happiness) in a double square and three pearls. Kakiemon.
