About this work

Lid of a porcelain tureen, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black, and gold. On the outer wall of the bowl, three flower groups with peony, aster, and bamboo; on the outer rim, a wide decorative band with flower branches on lacework and hanging lotus vines with luck symbols (musical stone, ruyi motif); on the base, a large flower group and on the inner wall, three flower groups; the inner rim with a band of ruyi motifs. The lid has the same decoration with a flower rosette on the finial and a band with flower vines on lacework on the rim. Famille rose.
