About this work
Lid of a round box of soft-paste porcelain (pâte tendre), painted in underglaze blue. On the flat lid a flowering plant (prunus), two birds and an insect near a rock in a double circle. On the underside of the lid an erotic scene of two naked lovers on a bed, the woman with bound feet. Blue and white.
