About this work

Decagonal plate of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze in red, green, yellow, black and gold with bamboo stems and bound hedges at a flowering plum tree in which a pheasant sits, with left bamboo and another pheasant, along the brown rim a band of leaf and flower motifs, on the back continuous leaf vines. Three plums and a mark of an unidentified character in the foot ring. Kakiemon.
