About this work
Porcelain dish with a stepped wall, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the flat of the dish a medallion with a seated man leaning against a vase, next to him three Chinese characters; around the medallion a standing woman and opposite a standing man with characters on both sides; between them two cartouches, one with a meander band and one with bamboo, with an inscription in characters. The lid marked with the seal mark of Emperor Daoguang (?). Crack in the bottom of the dish. Famille rose.
