About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded pot of porcelain with a spreading foot and a broad neck. Painted in underglaze blue and red and with white slip. On the body, a continuous scene of a pond with lotus plants and standing and flying cranes. Around the foot and on the shoulder, a decorative band. The neck with flowering branches. On the lid, lotus plants. Several cracks in the neck of the pot; the rim of the lid with multiple chips. Marked on the underside with an artemisia leaf in a double circle. Underglaze blue with copper red.
