About this work
Plate of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the flat a woman by a pond with reeds gesturing towards three birds in front of her on the land, next to the woman a servant holding a richly decorated parasol above her head; on the wall flower branches alternating with a medallion; the rim with a honeycomb motif with here four cartouches with a woman and four medallions with birds; the back with eight insects. The representation is after a design by Cornelis Pronk (1691-1754). European representation in enamel colors.
