About this work

Bowl of porcelain with a spreading rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the outer wall a landscape with the 'three friends of winter' (pine, bamboo, prunus) with rocks, flowering plants, clouds and the moon. On the base a rock with flowering plants. The inner and outer rim with the 'three friends'. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. A crack in the rim; footring restored. Blue-and-white.
