About this work

Deep plate of porcelain with a scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat surface two women (long-lipped) in a garden, looking at a flowerpot on a low table. The wall and rim are divided into eight petal-shaped compartments with two women beside a flowering plant in each. Between the compartments a swastika pattern. The outer wall is divided into eight compartments by incised lines. Over this three flower branches and a fruit branch (peach). Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Kangxi in a double circle. Some chips in the rim. Blue and white.
