About this work

Helmet-shaped jug on a foot of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black, and gold. On the body a broad band with flowering plants, a bird, and two butterflies, above and below a decorative band; around the foot a band with lotus leaves and flowering branches against a green speckled ground; on either side of the spout chrysanthemum branches; the rim with a colored band and one with flowering branches against a speckled ground. On the spout a face with a headdress in relief; the handle with a floral scroll and cloud motif. The jug is part of a tea set (AK-RBK-16330-A). Famille verte.
