Square Vase with Immortals and a Goddess

Square porcelain vase with rounded shoulders, wide spreading neck and flat rim, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red, green, yellow and black. On the walls, rectangular cartouches with four different scenes: the first wall shows an Immortal on a crane with a group of onlookers pointing at him; the second shows a goddess and her servant in a dream-cartouche appearing to a scholar; the third shows five sages in a landscape unrolling a scroll with a yin yang symbol; the last shows an Immortal on a qilin accompanied by two servants. On the shoulder, treasures (ruby, pearl); on the neck, three playing boys (fools) in a rocky landscape. Some chips in the rim. Transitional porcelain with enamel colors.
