About this work
Royal coffee pot of porcelain with the C-shaped handle and S-shaped spout at right angles to each other, painted in underglaze blue. On the body a woman by a pond gesturing towards three birds on the land before her, next to the woman a servant holding a richly decorated parasol over her head. On the rim branches of flowers alternating with a medallion. The underside of the body with a honeycomb pattern interrupted by two cartouches with a peony branch and two medallions with a swimming duck. The handle and spout with floral scrolls. The design is after Cornelis Pronk (1691-1754). European subject in blue and white.
