About this work

Porcelain bowl with an acanthus-shaped rim. On the wall, a relief decoration of six lobed cartouches alternating with scrolling vines. In the cartouches: two cranes, a heron, the 'three friends of winter' (pine, bamboo, and a prunus), and symbols of good fortune. Three feet on the underside. Old label on the underside with 'P[?] 8037/ Japan/ 17th-18th century/ p.p. 500,-'. White porcelain.
