About this work

Decagonal porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue. On the exterior wall, a continuous representation of four times a flowering plant (chrysanthemum, sunflower) near rocks; the outer rim with a band with a blue cloud motif with cut-out butterflies. On the base, a peony plant near a rock and two flying butterflies. The inner rim with a broad, blue band with cut-out sunflowers, chrysanthemums and butterflies. Marked on the underside with 'fuku' in a double square. Arita, blue and white.
