About this work

Album with thirty-one engravings on thirty-two album leaves, titled: The Treasure or Example and Display of Various Writings for the Service of Lovers of the High and Noble Art of the Pen. The album contains a title print, a leaf with threshold poems, a portrait of Maria Strick, an engraved dedication to the city council of Rotterdam, and twenty-eight calligraphic writing samples in French, Dutch, German, Italian, English, and Spanish. The first twenty-three writing samples begin with a decorated capital and are arranged alphabetically. Followed by five leaves with letter samples. Modern green linen binding with front and back flyleaves.
