About this work

The female personification of Imagination paints a picture of the Mississippi; around her, children blowing bubbles or reading from the share book of the Mississippi Company, sitting on an empty money chest. With four small scenes of other failed enterprises. Below the scene, a caption with a three-column verse printed from a separate plate. Print 23 in the series Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trade of 1720.
