About this work

Tympanum of Egmond: arch drum with Peter, Count Dirk VI of Holland, and his mother Countess Petronella. The whole surrounded by Latin inscriptions. The stone is from the former Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter and St. Adelbert at Egmond-Binnen. Below the stone, some old letters. Muller dates the representations on this stone to the year 1009; in reality, the stone was made around 1120.
