About this work

Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, visits him in the desert and gives him advice on the organization of justice. The two embrace. Jethro brings Moses his daughter Zipporah and grandchildren, whom Moses had sent to Midian for safety. They stand on the right. On the left, Moses judges the people of Israel. Below the image, two four-line verses in Latin and a reference to the biblical text in Ex. 18. The print is part of an album.
