Book in Latin on the Passion of Christ. The book contains a series of prints on Christian salvation history: from the fall of Adam and Eve and the expulsion from Paradise, the birth of Christ, the life of Christ, the Passion of Christ to Pentecost. The texts were collected by the humanist Alardus of Amsterdam. The anthology was compiled at the request of the Amsterdam merchant Pompejus Occo from descriptions of Christ's Passion by various authors from antiquity and later authors, including Petrarch and Murmellius. In gold-stamped calf leather binding with marbled endpapers.
