About this work
On a sandy plain a man stands in a pit. He holds a shovel in his hands and looks at a bearded man standing next to the pit. He is studying the sword that the man has dug up. Behind him lie bones and human skulls. Houses are visible in the background. Drawing on sheet 27 of an album with 35 drawings.
